Welcome to South Court Inn! Tom and I hope to meet you soon here at our bed and breakfast in Luray, Virginia, in the heart of the historic Shenandoah Valley. While here, we suggest you plan to tour Luray Caverns (only a mile from our Inn,) drive Skyline Drive across the mountain tops of the Blue Ridge Mountains, tour Civil War sites across Page County, enjoy an increasingly sophisticated variety of wines throughout the area and to spend time in a canoe on the beautiful Shenandoah River.

The house, built in 1875 in what is called Valley Folk Victorian style, started as a farmhouse owned by the Town Pharmacist set at the front of his 400-acre farm. Extensive renovations 1938-1940 saw all decorations removed, the house enlarged, a brick veneer and stone porch added and the old laundry converted to a rental cottage. Tom and I worked 3 years (1997 – 2000) to renovate the house in high Victorian style of the 1890s. Despite its modern amenities the property represents a quiet haven for weary travelers to rest and restore themselves. Make South Court your base for daily forays into Civil War history, antique shopping, wine tasting and sightseeing adventures on the famous Skyline Drive and for hiking trails throughout the million acre Shenandoah National Park.

Today, we offer elegant accommodations including 4 bedrooms with private baths and a wheel-chair friendly 4-room cottage. Three bedrooms and the cottage offer whirlpool tubs. All bedrooms include canopy beds, TVs with DVD players and our DVD library open for your use, electric fireplaces, antique furnishing and décor. For guests who cannot climb flights of stairs, the Margaret Bland room, which is located on the first floor of the house, is our largest and most well appointed room.

SUSIE HODGES COTTAGE: A lovely 4-room cottage with wheelchair access throughout the 1st floor, limited mobility bathroom bath and 2 twin beds for those who cannot climb the stairs. Full breakfast served in the house or in the cottage.

Our largest bedroom offers a firm king canopy bed, inlayed tables with Tiffany style lamps, large club chair and ottoman, recliner, 35” color TV with DVD player and en suite bath with large whirlpool tub and shower. $140 - $175 per night

This is our most booked room; much sought after for the exotic cranberry red walls, circa 1820 solid mahogany canopy bed with a custom made soft foam and feather mattress and the largest en suite bath and whirlpool tub in the inn. The bath offers a 1.8- meter whirlpool tub for 2, but no shower. $140 per night

The metallic gold walls of Edith’s room combine with the French and Italian silk brocades decor with full amenities and comfort. The queen bed offers a firm mattress and steps to aide access. The en suite bath features a one-person whirlpool tub and shower. $125 - $140 per night

This elegant study in shades of blue, white and toile includes white wicker love seat and headboard, the billowy bed-hangings and circa 1800 wardrobe. The blue and white turn the corner into the en suite shower bath. $125 - $140 per night
