The immensely picturesque Welsh town of Betws y Coed is an excellent base for exploring the Snowdonia National Park including of course ascending Mt. Snowdon with its panoramic views over North Wales and beyond. The town is also just a short drive from Bala which is first for white water rapid riding, and if you're inclined to ride narrow gauge railways, then there's the Blaenau Festiniog line within a 10 minute drive.
You'll find outdoor pursuits galore as well as several fine boutique
shops, restaurants and hostelries at this mid-point Welsh town on the A470,
making it the ideal place to stay for a weekend exploration or romantic or
family getaway. You'll find a vast array of different places to stay from
camping sites, self catering accommodation to the humble guest house right
through to quality hotels some with a pool to boot. Most outdoor activities
are on hand or within a short drive from white water rafting on the nearby
Bala dam to mountain biking with a handy bike shop right in the centre of
town.
