  • "If you asked me whether I was happy with the room at the Columba Hotel, I’d have to say yes. Difficult to think of too many things that I’d criticise, especially given how clean and comfortable the room was. Did us well for the two nights we were there, so have to say that it gets my recommendation." James&Sue James&Sue

  • "Given how close the hotel is to the centre of Inverness, I was surprised by how peaceful it was. Certainly curries favour with me. Plus, there was all the facilities on offer, with the gym and all that. It was very pleasant, in truth, somewhere I’d definitely stay again." Danny Danny

  • "I’m a big fan of the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel, it’s a place I’ve been a few times now. It seems to balance the fine line between top quality rooms and somewhere that’s actually quite fun and relaxed. It certainly makes me happy and I haven’t even mentioned how much I like the cooked breakfast." Sean Sean

  • "The Glenmoriston Town House is an easy recommendation, something I’ve found to be hugely enjoyable and have spoken about with more than a few of my friends. It’s not like this is a massive revelation. It’s reviewed well for a reason. Top quality, excellent location, and the breakfast is both included in the price and delicious." Jo Jo

It’s not often that we have the time to vacation together these days, so I’m pleased we found somewhere that we could all enjoy so much. The swimming pool was a big part of that." • "Was I happy with the Best Western Plus Inverness Lochardil House Hotel? That’s the question I asked myself when I came to this page and, truth be told, I did. I was very happy, in fact. With my partner in tow, I found the service and the room (the bathroom, in particular) to be perfect. Recommended." Kevin Lee Kevin Lee

  • "To say we had a good time at the hotel would be an understatement. Even as we were making our way up the drive in the car, it felt like something a bit special. I guess after a week there, we thought we might have gotten bored of it. Not so. Really enjoyable and a terrific treat for the two of us." Mike Mike

  • "Wanted to give my thanks to the folks running the hotel, it was a fantastic experience that I’m now looking back on with a lot of fondness. Not only was my room more than up to snuff, but all the communal areas were to my liking as well. By that I mean: clean, warm, comfortable, welcoming, and many other platitudes." BD BD

  • "WE WERE THERE FOR A WEEKEND BREAK AND CAN CONFIRM THAT FROM THE TIME WE ARRIVED TILL THE TIME WE LEFT WE WERE MADE VERY WELCOME AND AT HOME. THE BREAKFAST SELECTION IS VERY GOOD AND COOKED TO ORDER AND DIDN'T HAVE LONG TO WAIT. EVENING DINNER WAS ALSO VERY GOOD AND GOOD CHOICE OF MENU. ROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE WITH TEA/COFFEE AVAILABLE. BATHROOM/SHOWER ROOM WAS CLEAN AND EVEN HAD A TV IN SHOWER. WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND A STAY THERE AND WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THE HEATH MOUNT HOTEL AGAIN. THANK YOU TO ALL STAFF FOR MAKING OUR STAY A BRAIL ONE." Iain McKinnon Iain McKinnon

  • "I’m dropping by to state that the Glen Mhor Hotel & Apartments did wonderfully for me, exactly what I’d been searching for. One thing which I haven’t seen mentioned enough on these reviews is the service. The folks working here are being trained well, they were all over everything. Hard working bunch. Made for a pleasant stay." Lazyjane Lazyjane

Tourist Info

Diversity and variety are the orders of the day in Inverness, which is proud to serve up a dizzying array of places to visit in and around the city. However, there's no better place to start than the wonderfully preserved Old Town, where the classic meets the contemporary impressively seamlessly. Alongside the history are some of the most high-tech industries in the country, including medical research and equipment manufacture.

After browsing through dozens of award-winning local shops and battling through the lively Victoria Market, take a gentle walk to imposing Inverness Castle - now used as a modern courthouse. Continue walking alongside the River Ness for some of the most enchanting riverside panoramas to be found anywhere in the UK, leading to the Ness Islands where budding anglers are invited to pit their might against highly-prized Atlantic Salmon. Fishing is a big sport here, and both experienced and amateur anglers can find some of the best fishing spots in the UK along the river's banks. Sports fans also have the choice of three football clubs, international-standard golf courses and even American Football!

Further history awaits at Craig Phadrig to the North, which along with unrivalled views of the Moray Firth is also the place to go for a close encounter with the region's bottlenose dolphins. If skiing is your bag, try nearby Aviemore which is just a short drive up the A9!

Annual events and festivals are plentiful all year round, while scores of important museums and galleries give you a sense of the history and culture of this city. The Inverness Museum and Art Gallery is the premier attraction for a true taste of Highland heritage, while open topped bus history tours are also a perfect way to see the architecture from a different perspective.
