  • "This place was fine for a overnight stay, the room was basic but it was equipped with all the necessary items and a shared bathroom with one other room. It was perfectly located for the train station and the centre of Inverness and the breakfast was good." Mason Mason

  • "If you’d like to visit Inverness, then you could do a lot worse than staying here. Not quite sure where to start with my praise, but should mention both the location and the customer service. Both of them appealed to me massively, the sort of thing I can get behind." StephensLot StephensLot

  • "We chose the Royal Highland hotel because of the location and the rate as were staying here on business. Our room was both big and comfy, clean and efficiently laid out and a rather good shower. Breakfasts were first class, fresh produce, real juices and very good tasting coffee." SG Smith SG Smith

  • "Didn’t know that they did four-star self-catering accommodation or apartment rental. I thought it was all little cabins out in the wilderness. This couldn’t be further from that, in all honesty. A magnificent apartment, and dealing with the owners was a pleasure. What a great group of people." Goodfamily Goodfamily

The location is an obvious advantage if you’re working across town and I always find that the rooms are spotless. Decent sized bedrooms and comfortable enough for the likes of me." James James

  • "I love the fact that I can rent out such a nice apartment when I need to spend a bit of time in Inverness. Since I discovered it, I’ve not turned back. Makes such a difference compared to all those random bookings elsewhere. More privacy, more flexibility. Can cook what I want, when I want it. Splendid." linda linda

  • "Tried out the Bridge Street Apartments for myself, having heard about their quality from a colleague. Our company does a fair bit of business up there, so these apartments have sort of become the de facto home whenever we have to send someone up that way. My first time: very pleased. Would happily return there, no doubt about that." kay sharpe kay sharpe

  • "Was more pleased with the apartment than I’d expected, to be honest. When I originally booked, the idea was that it’d offer me a bit more freedom when I wanted to explore Inverness, plus I wouldn’t have to eat out every night. Definitely succeeded on that count. Appreciated the underground parking." timothy cantell timothy cantell

  • "Given how close the hotel is to the centre of Inverness, I was surprised by how peaceful it was. Certainly curries favour with me. Plus, there was all the facilities on offer, with the gym and all that. It was very pleasant, in truth, somewhere I’d definitely stay again." Danny Danny

Tourist Info

Diversity and variety are the orders of the day in Inverness, which is proud to serve up a dizzying array of places to visit in and around the city. However, there's no better place to start than the wonderfully preserved Old Town, where the classic meets the contemporary impressively seamlessly. Alongside the history are some of the most high-tech industries in the country, including medical research and equipment manufacture.

After browsing through dozens of award-winning local shops and battling through the lively Victoria Market, take a gentle walk to imposing Inverness Castle - now used as a modern courthouse. Continue walking alongside the River Ness for some of the most enchanting riverside panoramas to be found anywhere in the UK, leading to the Ness Islands where budding anglers are invited to pit their might against highly-prized Atlantic Salmon. Fishing is a big sport here, and both experienced and amateur anglers can find some of the best fishing spots in the UK along the river's banks. Sports fans also have the choice of three football clubs, international-standard golf courses and even American Football!

Further history awaits at Craig Phadrig to the North, which along with unrivalled views of the Moray Firth is also the place to go for a close encounter with the region's bottlenose dolphins. If skiing is your bag, try nearby Aviemore which is just a short drive up the A9!

Annual events and festivals are plentiful all year round, while scores of important museums and galleries give you a sense of the history and culture of this city. The Inverness Museum and Art Gallery is the premier attraction for a true taste of Highland heritage, while open topped bus history tours are also a perfect way to see the architecture from a different perspective.
