The first question many people ask about St Andrews is where to stay. I’ve been back and forth from there a fair bit in recent years (sister in university) so I’ve tried quite a few places. I have visited the Ogstons On North Street infrequently over the years and always had a good stay, sad to see it is now closing. Rooms are clean and comfortable, food is good, staff all excellent. Will just have to find somewhere else as good and friendly. more

I don’t know what more there is to say about this hotel. They’re certainly not a hidden gem or anything like that. It’s not as though I’m uncovering something. It’s one of the best place in St Andrews. And deservedly so. If you’re at all interested in playing, then I would strongly recommend it to golfers. more

Our room was spacious, very comfortable and well equipped including nice toiletries. Public areas are lovely and breakfast is taken in a conservatory which overlooks the river, gorgeous, and so was the food. The location couldn't be bettered, within walking distance of everything St Andrews town has to offer. A lovely stay. more

The two nights I spent in the hotel were actually something of a treat, a birthday present from someone who’d been before. I think they picked very well. This sort of luxury, relaxing weekend was just what I needed. And the food! Beyond the fact that they offered a free breakfast, the evening meals were excellent. more

In a great location in St Andrews for views, very friendly and obliging staff. Our room was a bit tired but clean and comfortable. We had a meal at night which was good and breakfast next morning was cooked exactly how we requested. All the food and drink was very good value for money. OK it's not the Ritz but absolutely fine and good value for an overnight stay. more

A lovely place to stay with very nice owners. The hotel's location is good for St Andrews but there is traffic noise. Our room was immaculate, beautifully decorated and furnished with some lovely touches which included high quality toiletries. The food provided is very light which wouldn't suit everyone, however it did me. Very comfortable and I would be happy to return. more

    I was visiting St Andrews and needed cheap accommodation and this place was perfect for me. The staff were all very friendly and were able to give me suggestions of places to eat. There’s a nice big common area which was well equipped with DVDs and books, there’s also a kitchen with a fridge where you can store foods. show more

    Hard to imagine how you’d fault the hotel, did a wonderful job for me. For all of three nights I was there, meant I tried out all the facilities. Bar very good, for instance, nice atmosphere. Thought the room I had was great. Not just spotlessly clean, but a pleasant place to be. Food divine, full Scottish morning treat, I'd recommend a room here, when in St Andrews, sure. show more
