Lovely stay at Clarke Cottage, in a good location in Dunfermline for exploring Fife, and just 30 minutes drive in to Edinburgh. Suzanne and Colin were kind hosts and made us really welcome. We had a great room that was furnished to a high standard with nice toiletries and refreshments. Gorgeous cooked breakfast at a time to suit us. Well worth a visit.

This B&B was just the perfect choice for our wedding, everything was just perfect. The location in Dunfermline was stunning and the staff did an amazing job, the venue couldn’t have been more suitable and the guests were all very impressed. Food served was good quality and the entertainment was excellent. The rooms were immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. A big thank you to all the staff who made our day special.

With views over the Forth and a fantastic location in Dunfermline in general, the rooms decor can be slightly forgotten about. We had been to Limekilns before, for an evening meal and one of us had to drive back home, so this time we decided on giving their B&B a go. The breakfast and the staff were once again fabulous, for the price I would have expected a better standard of furniture in the room but it was only for a night and did spare a drive home.

Near Loch Fitty just North of Dunfermline and we were in heaven. Balmule House was simply stunning, we didn't want to leave, but then again we can always come back & we will. The house, grounds and super sized rooms and en-suites were just awesome, we only just about managed to see Dunfermline - so we'll have to be back. Many thanks to Duncan & Margaret for making our stay so wonderful, a perfect start to our Scottish Tour.

If you happen to reach Dunfermline Town by train and are looking for a welcoming B&B then a brisk walk or short taxi journey, should take you to the door of the Pitreavie Guest House. If Jim or Liz know your time of arrival, they'll probably have met you even before you get to the front door. Once inside the place is spotless and well kept with a lovely garden outside to. The room was large and comfortable and the breakfasts perfect. The Abbey and Palace was only a mile down the road and has a lovely park next door. There was parking and free wi-fi but we used neither - much prefer my feet and a map.

I think the biggest compliment that I can pay to Hillview House is that, as we walked in through the door, it actually felt a bit like home. A home, at least. Too many of these places can feel a bit clinical and a bit of a let-down. Not here. Really liked it, so well done them.

A short 45 minute drive from Edinburgh brought us here to little ole Bunree bed & breakfast. We were here for the last 2 days of the Ryder Cup and then for another 2 to enjoy the delightful scenery. Glen eagles was around the same drive as Edinburgh, so no trouble at all, apart from the end result. We received a warm and friendly welcome, which stayed the 4 days we were here. The rooms were first class and I think I got to eventually like the Hearty breakfast - there was cereal and things, but when in Rome or Scotland, best give it a fling.

Have not stayed in the Hideaway for approx. 5 years. I called at it 2 weeks ago to check it out but discovered that it was boarded up and closed. What a waste as my wife and I have enjoyed some excellent breaks there.
