"We came here many years ago and had a very enjoyable return. All the staff were really nice, rooms are good. There is a very good atmosphere in the place and I have to say the breakfast was very enjoyable throughout our stay. Very good value, I am sure we will be returning in the future."

"I’ve got to admit that the whole trip to the Lodge on the Loch of Aboyne was a bit weird. Had no idea what to expect, the holiday was a birthday present. When we got there, however, all those worries went away. Had a wonderful weekend; nice, tasty early breakfast and good, comfortable facilities/rooms."

"Can see why there’s a few people describing it as more of a country house than a Guest House. Either way, it’s splendid accommodation. With that sort of location, there’s not really anyway you could be disappointed, to be fair, but they still put in the effort anyway. I think, with our large party, every single person seemed pleased."

"Very well located for sight seeing, easy drives to many places of interest and pleasant walking around the loch which is reached from the rear of the hotel. A family run hotel, nice and friendly. Our room was on the small side but this is a minor point, all the breakfast we had was excellent. We would definitely stay again."

" We enjoyed our few days stay at the lodges which are very comfortable and well equipped. There is a patio to relax on in warmer weather. We were on a walking holiday, out all day and the lodge was nice to return to. There is a bar and restaurant which we used in the evenings and food was good. All the staff are friendly and helpful."

"I had a brief stay here whilst on a business trip. My stay was good, the room was small but clean and comfortable, the bathroom also was clean. Food was very good at night and breakfast. It was a good value for money stay. However, it is clear that a refurbishment is required, inside and out."

"Wonderful place to stay in the stunning village of Aboyne and set in beautiful grounds. Our room was delightful. Great attention to detail, from the tea, coffee, homemade cake and whiskey! We loved the breakfast that was high quality and we left feeling thoroughly spoiled! 10 out of 10!"

"Well deserving of it's 5 stars, a beautiful house close to Braemar. Our room was well furnished and decorated to high standards and a terrific bathroom. Breakfast had excellent choices and was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately this was only an overnight stay, would have loved a longer one, maybe next time. Recommended."
