After the River Dove abandons the cascades of the Derbyshire Dales, it winds languorously through the fertile flatlands between Burton upon Trent and Derby. The area has a pastoral beauty scarcely known and barely touched by modern times.
Rolleston on Dove is the quintessential Old English village complete with thatched cottages and a babbling brook, The Dove no less, running through it. This is the setting for The Brookhouse, standing in a beautiful country garden. North of Burton-On-Trent, just off the A38/A50.
The restaurant has an excellent reputation for superb food, and reserving a table is definitely essential especially at weekends. The menu offers food of the highest standard, English style cuisine with French influences. All dishes are prepared by experienced chefs using the freshest of produce; fish, poultry, meats, game (in season) and vegetables. Our comprehensive wine list offers imaginative, rare and some unusual wines.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is set by soft lighting and candlelight, reflecting in the silver and crystal laid on the antique tables; fresh flowers are everywhere. Diners can also choose to sip an aperitif or enjoy an after-dinner coffee in the delightful conservatory, overlooking the stunning grounds.
