In a great location, basic but clean rooms, if you are at the top it's a lot of stairs to negotiate. We found it friendly and staff great, ideal for girls/boys night's out as a place to rest your head after the night's entertainment. You wouldn't want a romantic week-end away here. Good value for money, we all had a good time. more

This is a nice hotel in an old building that has been very well maintained and I booked here for a few nights whilst travelling on business. The facilities at County were very good and all the staff I encountered were all very friendly and polite. My room was spotless with a nice big bed and the shower was excellent. more

Great hotel and we were warmly welcomed by the staff on reception on arrival. The rooms were fine, clean and nicely presented, although the heating could be a bit temperamental at times. The Sharks Bar on site had a nice lively atmosphere in the evenings. more

    What a fantastic hotel, I was travelling on business and stopped here for a couple of nights, I was very pleased indeed. The service from the staff was very good and the location in Newcastle Upon Tyne was great for me. My room was a good size, well appointed and all very clean.     Holiday Inn Express Newcastle Gateshead, an IHG Hotel

    Although away from the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne it is not a problem, a bus or metro gets you there quickly. There is a pub close by for meals too. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable, food great. A good value for money stay, we will use again. show more

    On a business trip I was booked into the hotel through my Company. I had a friendly and efficient check in and had good responses to my enquiries. The room I had was spacious, clean and comfortable, well equipped with all I needed, the en-suite although quite small was well appointed. The hotel has good leisure facilities although I did not have time to make use of them (maybe next time). Definitely a place I would return to. show more

    A nice and modern hotel, close to the station and within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, quays. Our room was immaculate and comfortable. At breakfast it was busy. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room but these are offered in the reception area.     The hotel is well located within walking distance of the centre and attractions. Parking is available opposite the hotel and reception will provide a discount. Rooms are good, showers are powerful. breakfast is buffet style and very nice. We enjoyed a drink in the bar before going for our night on Newcastle Upon Tyne. We stayed mid-week and had no problems with noise. show more

    A nicely located hotel on the quays with nice views, out of the centre but easy walking distance to everywhere. We had a mid-week stay and it was fairly quiet.     This is a budget hotel we booked for a week-end. It was very busy but I have to say we were not disturbed by noise and slept well. The hotel is not in the best setting but is nice inside where we made use of the bar. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the shower nice and powerful. Well located for shops and entertainment.
