"Neither Thirsk or the Fourways guesthouse disappointed me on my brief stay up in Yorkshire.
The owners were fantastic with ample ideas on where to go on my days off.
The rooms that I stayed in were all very comfortable and well furnished with enough storage for all my baggage.
The breakfasts were amazing if you had the full-monty and I barely ate anything till quite late if I did.
Plenty of little shops and cafes to idle away a few hours in Thirsk itself or the occasional pub."

"Superb yet again. Stayed overnight due to business and returned for a few nights bed and breakfast with hubby this time around. The staff and rooms are just wonderful, helping make your stay that more relaxed and memorable. Had a lovely walk around Thirsk and a good roper walk u on the North York Moors. Will look forward to being back again soon on business."

"We visited the market town of Thirsk the other month and have finally got round to saying a little about our stay.
The Kirkgate provided easy parking and English charm in the character of the building and its rooms. We were able to walk into the market square without any problems. Across the road there was a pleasant pub called the Cross Keys with some nice Ales."

"If you asked me whether you should stay at the Old Oak Tree, then my answer would be pretty definitive. It’s a yes from me. Spotlessly clean, warm and cosy, good value rooms, a meal with a wide-ranging menu that’s cooked well, a complimentary breakfast, and – most importantly – good customer service. It’s everything I wanted."

"Nice cheap and dog friendly pub with B&B. Was travelling through to Yorkshire and had a couple of days spare to walk the dogs. Booked into the Vale of York as its got plenty of parking and a small store next door to stock up on bits and pieces. Thirsk itself was just down the road but parking can be tricky on market days. Room was nice and big and plenty comfortable for my one night stay."

"Getting to our cottage at the Poplars was a short walk from the station at Thirsk. So we were nicely settled in nice and quickly. We had a nice seating area and a small kitchen in which to cook our evening meals. Breakfast we had provided by the owner. Thirsk was a lovely market town nearby, which we got a cab to, York and Darlington were visited by train."

"Loved Thirsk, loved our room as well. Highlights would be the honesty bar and the walk in shower – don’t see those everywhere! It’s just the sort of place I like, a balance between modern quality and traditional, friendly customer service. A proper holiday, as it were, all jammed into a weekend away. And then the breakfast was rather good as well, which is appreciated."

"Had stopped by the Kings Arms for a drink a few months back and thanks to the friendly welcome, decided to book a room this time around. Great food and drink on offer, both in the evenings and at breakfast. If like us you don't eat to late then there Early bird midweek deals are even better value.
My room came with a good wi-fi connection, had a good sized double bed that was nice and comfy and had a nice modern theme to it."

"For us, it was a case of booking the cottage in the ground. Still access to the rest of the facilities, plus you’ve got great views of the squirrels and the birds in the grounds, which is nice. Very peaceful. Plus, there’s the option of the pool if you want a bit of a change. We really liked it, thanks. ."

"Even in chilly December the hot tub outdoors was still a treat to use and look up at the stars whilst sipping a nice cool glass of vino.
loved the breakfast having had a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed.
Didn't make use of the pool, I'll leave that to warmer times.
Great countryside location, but within easy reach of Darlington or York."

"Kathryn was the perfect host at The Gallery, in a good location opposite James Herriot Museum, and moments away from Thirsk town. The room was superb with homemade cookies and great refreshments, toiletries and the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was a real treat with lots of homemade delights. We could not fault it."

"Thirsk gets a little busy during the holiday breaks. Which is why we chose this bed and breakfast the first time around. The welcome by the owners the comfortable room and well cooked breakfast had us return. Set back from the road it's nice and peaceful with lovely well kept gardens. The town is only a short walk, so the car can be left behind."

"Just stayed for bed and breakfast as we were spending most of the days out in the North York Moors and the evenings checking out local bars.
Receptionist was friendly and welcoming and checked us in and out nice and efficiently. We had recently refurbished rooms which did the job of giving us a good nights recovery before our adventures the following day."
