"Stopped here whilst on a business trip and this place really exceeded my expectations. The staff at reception were very warm and friendly and on arrival they showed me to my room. My room was great, furnished to a high standard and a nice view overlooking the square. I really enjoyed the breakfast served in the morning."

"Garden Hotel was a charming B&B in a Charming town. The High St was one way so missed it the first time around (look out for a Barclays Bank if you book), but had a lovely warm welcome on arrival. Room had English charm and there was a nice lounge in which to enjoy a coffee or two."

"Stayed at the Redwings as needed a cheap place to stay near Rutland Water. After a long ride around Rutland it was only a short journey to our Hotel.
Welcome was nice and friendly
Room clean but basic.
Breakfast was again pretty basic, but so was the price.
Great cheap place for an overnight stop, would use again."

"Uppingham was a lovely little market town between Leicester and Peterborough. We'd been to Kings Lynn earlier in the day and were heading off for a walk at Rutland Water the following day, so chose the Lake Isle Hotel as our stopover bed and breakfast. We'd booked into the adjacent cottage which had its own lounge for a bit more relaxation. The food was fabulous, both in the evening and at breakfast.
Location wise your right on the High St and next to a great Butchers in Uppingham itself.

"Marquis of Exeter was located beautifully in the countryside which was the perfect setting for the peaceful break that my husband and I wished for. The food in the pub was very good and buffet breakfast was fantastic with lovely croissants. Our room was perfect – clean and comfy and lovely decor."
