- "Had an excellent last minute break here with a few friends, the location was lovely and we had a nice sea view. The rooms were tastefully decorated and a very high quality bathroom. The bar area is very pleasant and the restaurant served some delicious food. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast with plenty of options offered."
- "A lovely boutique hotel where my girlfriend and I stopped overnight to attend an event nearby. The rooms were very clean with a nice ensuite bathroom with an excellent power shower, the towels were very large, thick and fluffy. The food served in the evening was great and the breakfast served in the morning was just as good."
- "A good pub with rooms within easy reach of town and beach, with parking. There is a good atmosphere in the pub which is used by locals, the staff all nice and friendly. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious and the bathroom had a great power shower. There is breakfast at night which is good. Rooms on the 3rd floor are a bit of a hike which could be a problem for the less able. Very good value for money, we would stay again."
Ramsgate is a traditional seaside town found in east Kent. East Kent is an ideal location for visitors wanting to experience traditional seaside charm and examples of fine architecture. Canterbury Cathedral is only a short bus ride away. The primary allure for families visiting the region is the region's award winning coastline, and its accessibility. Kent has an airport and regular train and bus services into Ramsgate increases the appeal of the area.
The Royal Harbour in Ramsgate, although built in the eighteenth century is still very much active and the yachting marina and freight and vehicle transport routes make sure there is always something to see. Dover is also close by and easily accessible by bus or train, and it is worth considering a day trip, if only to see the grand Dover Castle which is above the equally well known White Cliffs of Dover. The nightlife of Ramsgate marina is also reputed for its quality.
For sporting enthusiasts there are a variety of activities and games available, and the coastline enables visitors to partake in sailing or wind-surfing among other water based activities. Part of the Viking coastal trail runs through the area, and notably the trail from Ramsgate to Broadstairs is said to be an exceptional walking or cycling route.
The main industries in the area are fishing and tourism, which is little surprise for a classic British seaside town. The beauty of this place is the fact that is very family friendly, and is equally accommodating for young or old couples with its vibrant nightlife and its cultural landmarks.
