The County Hotel is an attractive old building and nicely furnished and decorated inside.
We had a friendly welcome on arrival and check in went smoothly despite being busy at the time.
Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable.
We dined in the restaurant at night and had no complaints, the food was well cooked and nicely presented. Breakfast also was good.
We both enjoyed our overnight stay here and can recommend to others visiting Chelmsford.

Being in business we do not get much time off, usually just a few week ends throughout the year, so we always look for a place that offers comfort and relaxation. Pontlands Park ticked all the boxes for us.
Friendly and charming staff, modern, stylish rooms, great food, lovely spa.
With the added bonus of only an hours drive away we are already looking forward to our next visit.

In a lovely setting and on a golf course, quiet and peaceful. My room had very good décor, a well stocked mini bar, the bathroom was spacious with robe and slippers supplied. Evening meal and food were very good, excellent service as well. Just a one night stay but certainly is a place I would return to if and when in the Chelmsford area again.

Superb - absolutely loved the food at the hotel, room was very spacious with nice high ceilings, big comfortable bed. Lady behind the check-in in was extremely friendly. All in all a very relaxing stay, could maybe do with more air con though.

So happy we decided to stay at The Riverside Inn - it surpassed our expectations and ticked all the boxes. Our room had more than enough space for the two of us and some lovely period features, such as exposed wooden beams. One of the more interesting places we’ve stayed.

There was nothing to be faulted. All the hotel staff very efficient and friendly. Rooms were modern and stylish, food was excellent at dinner and food overall, delicious, well presented and great service.

Excellent apartment that's everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. Plenty of space as well. It’s bright and airy and even has its own balcony! Great value for money and a good choice if you’re visiting Chelmsford as it’s centrally located and right by the train station.

We had an excellent weekend at Boswell House. Hotel was close to local amenities. Our room was immaculate and owners couldn't have been more welcoming. Both times we ate food thought was thoroughly delicious. Car park really useful considering how close we were to Chelmsford town centre.

Well located close to the station and Chelmsford town centre with friendly staff.
My room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped, the bathroom also was good, a powerful shower and toiletries were supplied.
The food was a well cooked full English, great.
I found it to be a good short stay, there is a bar and restaurant - I made use of the bar but not the restaurant as I was dining elsewhere.

I stayed in Chelmsford to do genealogical research at the Essex Records Office. Chelmer Hotel was within easy walking distance, mostly along a path beside the Chelm river. The hotel was very close to the main shopping and restaurant areas.
I had a single room with en-suite. All was clean and tidy and the bathroom had obviously had a recent refit of all facilities.
A full English was included but, having regard for my waistline I did not avail myself of more than half the offerings.
Host Sue was friendly and helpful with regard to restaurants and travel arrangements. I am happy to give Chelmer a high recommendation.
