"I had a backup hotel-chain accommodation planned out as I came on business for 2 weeks and didn’t want to put all eggs in one basket, happy to report I stayed at Workington House for the entire 2 weeks, Overjoyed with the consistent high standards, large clean room that was looked after regularly, comfortable bed and quiet at night, an absolute gem of a find! And another reason why I’ll continue using B&B’s."

"The hall Park was on your way into Workington, so nice and easy to find. It's an old building so the rooms are nice and spacious, including the bathroom. There was good wi-fi and we had both our dogs with us, so no complaints there. We had a scrummy breakfast. The staff were nice and friendly, so had a good bed and breakfast escape."

"You forgot how close to the Irish Sea you are in West Cumbria. That is until you come to Workington. Happened to be here on business and was booked into the Waverley Hotel, just B&B as the company was paying. It was nice and clean, tidy, comfortable and for me only a few minutes drive to my appointments. There's a station a few minutes away and the coast a few more beyond that."

"The welcome our group received was lovely. Tea and hot gross buns on arrival and our cases then transported to our rooms.
The lounge was was warm and gave a cosy feeling to tithe dining room appeared could look larger but with clever use od the curtains made it look cosy.
The breakfast well Anne should be on master chef brilliant wholesome cooking. Rooms well I was in a single room bed very comfy en-suite toilet shower and bath very adequate. Yes some decore needed redoing but nothing to write home about the review written by Mrs Ack is damming and untrue. Its a three star hotel not a five star and I feel I would have no hesitation to go back. Mr and Mrs MCTear have had a traumatising time recently yet they gave us full attention. I applaud them"

"A lovely house with great owners who go the extra mile. Everything is immaculate, our room furnished and decorated to a high standard. Breakfast is taken in a lovely room and is fit for a king. The location is a bit remote with fantastic views and a pub within walking distance which serves good food. Well worth a stay, we recommend."
