The fantastic town of Wadebridge is in the North of Cornwall and it is situated beside the River Camel, close to the nearby coastal town of Port Issac, and the harbour town of Padstow.

Visit the local Wadebridge & District Museum - this marvellous little museum was opened in 2007 at a different location and over the years has settled where it is today. It is free to enter and it is staffed by volunteers, they also have wheelchair access and are dog friendly. Wadebridge Museum is designed to help educate people on the fascinating history of the local area, such as the first known historical mention of Wadebridge goes all the way back to the year 1382 and the little-known fact that the town was one of the few places to have a railway in the UK before London in 1834.

Another amazing piece of English and Cornish history is St Breock Downs Monolith which is only a ten-minute drive away from the centre of Wadebridge. It is the heaviest and largest prehistoric monolith in all of Cornwall and it is also managed by the Cornwall Heritage Trust.

Wadebridge has a wonderful Cornish tradition every year of the Royal Cornwall Show during the summer. The show is agriculturally based as it is hosted by the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association which was founded in 1793. There are so many farming-based activities to take part in such as the trials for sheepdogs and riding competitions. They also usually have games to take part in as well as other shows such as live music.
