What guests are saying
"Just a ten minute walk to the centre with parking. I had an en-suite room although there are some rooms with shared facilities. My room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable with all the facilities. The full English breakfast was excellent. Can't speak too highly of the owner who is friendly and helpful. Excellent value, recommended."

"Steph was a wonderful host at Castle Farm, set beside the river, and walking distance to the village of Fotheringhay. Our room was lovely clean and quiet with comfy bed and powerful shower, with beautiful views over the river and fields. Loved the breakfast cooked to order with fresh juices and toast on the side. We would absolutely return!"

What guests are saying
"Can vouch for the Newark Hotel, it’s both cheap and convenient, especially if you need to access the town centre at all. Our room was pleasant enough, fitted with its own private bathroom and shower unit. Food offerings aren’t great, would advise going to nearby cafes. Given how comfortable the bed is, it’s excellent value for short stays."

Tourist Info
Peterborough may not seem like the most exotic of holiday destinations in the UK, but it is still an intriguing city full of places to go and things to see and do. Naturally low-lying and flat, some parts of Peterborough are actually below sea level. It is also a city with plenty of heritage, having supported a settlement since the Bronze Age. Peterborough is home to some incredible architecture, such as the 12th Century cathedral - one of the oldest surviving cathedrals in the UK.
Peterborough benefited greatly from the industrial revolution, and its location as an important stop on the railway lines running from London to the north helped to transform it into an industrial centre and transport hub.
Whilst the city nowadays relies more heavily on its service sector than on manufacturing goods such as the bricks it used to be renowned for, Peterborough is nevertheless a thriving city combining the best of new and old. With three shopping centres, two theatres, and a selection of bars, nightclubs and restaurants as well as regular farmers markets and craft fairs, you'll never be short of things to do. Sports fans are spoilt for choice, with everything from football, cricket and rugby to more exotic sports such as Australian Rules Football (where there are, effectively, no rules!) Hockey is hugely popular in the area and Peterborough is proud of the achievements of both its mens and womens hockey teams.
Peterborough's excellent transport links make it perfect for visiting the surrounding towns and cities such as Corby and Huntingdon, as well as exploring further afield such as Kings Lynn to discover what the rest of The Fens has to offer.
