"Choose to stay in the Mecure Wigan Oak hotel for a night during a recent trip and wanted to leave a couple of thoughts. We were both pleased by our time in the hotel, particularly the cleanliness of the room and the good value it provided. The staff were excellent and did a lot to make us feel at home."

"We stayed in the older part of the hotel which was a fair walk to the main reception area. Our en-suite room was fine containing complimentary toiletries, breakfasts were good, leisure areas were good but the spa pool was not working when we were there. Generally felt that some updating was required but we enjoyed ourselves and would stay again."

"Great stay at Holiday Inn Express, its situated in Martland Park industrial estate, and near to the M6. Our room was spacious and newly refurbished with a lovely huge bed and the bathroom was excellent, it was really peaceful too. Lovely and plentiful buffet style breakfast. The staff were exceptional. Highly recommend!

"Decided upon the Inglewood B&B because I wanted something different. Decided that, if I was going to visit Chorley, I should make the effort to avoid staying in one of those franchise/chain places. Owners were fantastic and gave loads of great advice about the town. They’ve helped me set a future precedent."

"This was the simple and easy option when we were staying in Standish for a wedding. Drove right up (easy to find) and were checked in within minutes. The front desk was always available, always polite. Rooms were fine – very clean and stocked with everything we needed. In all, a perfect example of where to stay."

"All the staff were welcoming and polite and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. This was just an overnight stay and our room was very comfortable with lovely hill views from the window. Our evening meal was cooked to perfection as was breakfast in the morning. Excellent service throughout. We are spreading the word."

"We stayed in the Leigh Sports Village (Holiday Inn?) recently and have plenty of nice things to say. Was a quick trip, in all honesty, just to attend a wedding, but left very impressed nonetheless. It was pretty much designed for us. Easy to find, comfy beds, cheery people, and even a tasty breakfast."

"I’ll admit that this was my first time in Chorley but I can’t imagine staying in a nicer place. When we first pulled up at the Lodge Motel, we marvelled at hope simple and streamlined everything was. Good customer service that let you just get on with it. Just the kind of thing I want from a bed and breakfast."

"Lots of nice things to say about the Wrightington Hotel, don’t think any of us came back with anything negative. Foremost in our minds were the rooms themselves – carefully cleaned and well arranged – but the facilities available really stood out. The kids loved the pool that much I know for sure."
