The Farm is a 17th century Somerset longhouse set in the heart of farming country but only a few minutes from the breathtaking Cheddar Gorge, the lovely City of Wells which is England's smallest City, Wookey Hole with it's legendary Witch of Wookey who supposedly lived in the famous caves many hundreds of years ago and the rather colourful and interesting town of Glastonbury where the famous Glastonbury Pop Festival is held. It is also approximatley 20/25 minutes from the seaside towns of Weston, Burnham and Bream and a short car journey away of around 35 minutes from the beautiful cities of Bath and Bristol which are both served by park and ride facilities. The lovely village of Wedmore is no
more than a mile and half away and boasts a variety of superb shops, cafes, hostelries and restaurants as well as a beautiful church.
The farm offers a warm welcome with a complimentary pot of tea or coffee on arrival and the accommodation comprises a large lovely double ensuite which can also be used as a family room for 4.The room has a king sized double bed, settee and video recorder, small fridge and an ensuite shower room. There is also a typically pretty country styled twin bedded room also with ensuite facilities and another double bedroom set within a private alcove and adjacent to the bathroom and with it's own vanity wash hand basin set within the room. All the rooms have colour TV and a very well stock hospitality tray, heating and extra heating, hair dryer,a fan and extra blankets when required.
There is also a very comfortable and attractive guest lounge with digital TV, video recorder and videos, games, magazines and books.
The price includes a four course breakfast, with fresh fruit, yoghurts, juice and cereals and a menu to choose from with choices such as a very large full English breakfast, Continental and full continental, Kippers, smoked haddock and many other choices, with toast and a choice of tea, ground coffee, herb teas and other beverages. We can also offer 2/3 course evening meals with several menus to choose from as well as a grill menu and choices of typically English fare or Mediterranean dishes, the choice is yours. However as all the food is home cooked and freshly prepared we do initially need at least 24 hours notice. Menus can be sent with the confirmation of the booking or emailed to you there is also a choice of supper dishes which only need 3/4 hours notice, snacks can be order on demand up until 8:30pm and we can provide a pack lunch as long as we have a couple of hours notice. We also cater for dietary needs and vegetarians but do need to know about this in advance.
The farm also has a typical farmyard, prettily decked out with hanging baskets, pots with colourful flowers and water features, where we serve light snacks and cream teas but just in case the weather turns out to be a little wet an inside area is also provided.
We are also on a direct cycle route and are very happy to cater for cyclists where we can securely lock away bikes and are close to Cheddar where they hold the famous BMX trials where people take part from all over the world.
We are very child friendly as well, as we have our own and can offer cots, highchairs,a baby gym and baby sitting facilities as long as we have plenty of notice. There is also an area outside where they can play with a climbing frame etc. We can also offer a laundry service for cyclists and guests who have not been able to get to a washing machine for a while. We also have a fax machine and are happy to send emails for guests.
There is also a very large secure off street parking area which is suitable for larger vehicles as well as smaller ones.
