Whitfield Farm Cottage is a 200 year old cottage of character and charm set in peaceful countryside within one mile of Dorchester. An ideal place to stay, whether considering a holiday in the area or a short break, the cottage offers comfortable accommodation in attractive surroundings, and you can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.

We have been providing bed and breakfast facilities at Whitfield Farm Cottage for the last ten years, and for several years were recommended by the Tourist Board, and included also in various established bed and breakfast guides such as ‘Staying off the Beaten Track’, ‘Bed & Breakfast Nationwide’, and Alastair Sawday’s ‘Special Places to Stay’. endly welcome.

However, we have now reduced our commitment to concentrate on offering one twin/double bedroom, which enables us to provide a more personal service to our guests. Entirely self contained, this spacious room is situated on the ground floor, and has its own door into the garden. It has an en-suite shower room, with a power shower, and is also equipped with a hair dryer, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities and an extensive collection of interesting books.

Breakfast is served in the farmhouse kitchen up until 9 o’clock, and in the summer may be served outside in the walled courtyard, weather permitting.

There is safe parking within the grounds of the cottage, and pleasant walks nearby, in particular along the banks of the Frome, a typical chalk stream favoured by local fishermen.

Guests are asked not to arrive before 4.30 pm on the day of arrival, and to check out by 10.30 am on the day of departure. We do not accept credit or debit cards, and would ask that guests settle their accounts in sterling, either with a cheque or in cash, on the completion of their stay.
