Waterloo House is a delightful 4-star family-run Georgian guesthouse in the heart of the picturesque Exmoor town of Lynton. Established in 1828, Waterloo House is the oldest boarding house in Lynton, full of character and charm. We offer 5 elegant and comfortable en-suite rooms with a choice of single room, spacious twin and family rooms, and a double room with four-poster bed. All rooms have TV, tea & coffee making facilities, hospitality tray and hairdryer. A cot and high chair are available on request. We have a relaxing guest lounge with a wide variety of local guide books, maps and games.
We offer a traditional breakfast with vegetarian options, and can cater for special diets. There is forecourt parking for 2 cars which can be reserved free of charge. We can also provide discounted tickets for nearby public car parks.

The twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth have been a popular Exmoor holiday destination since Georgian times. The area is known as 'Little Switzerland', boasting the highest coastal cliffs in England. Lynton stands 500ft above sea level, with picturesque Lynmouth harbour nestling below. Lynton and Lynmouth are joined by the historic Victorian water-powered Cliff Railway, built in 1888. Within a 10 minute walk of Waterloo House is the Valley of Rocks with stunning scenery and varied wildlife habitats. The area has numerous attractions for walkers and family groups, including beauty spots at Hollerday Hill, Waters Meet, the Heddon Valley and family days out at the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway; Exmoor Zoo; Dunster Castle; Tarka Trail, Watermouth Castle, Rosemoor RHS Garden, Broomhill Sculpture Gardens and many more. Trips to Lundy Island can be arranged from Ilfracombe or Bideford.

By Train - The nearest train station is at Barnstaple (19 miles) from where you can complete your journey by bus (No. 309 or 310) or taxi.
By Road
Leave the M5 at junction 27. Follow signs for Barnstaple along A361. At South Molton (Little Chef island) turn right onto the A399. At Blackmoor Gate turn right onto the A39 which goes into Lynton.
