Patsy & Bill have been awarded four stars by the English Tourist Council for their warm, welcoming and very comfortable fully en suite accommodation. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities with colour TV and there is a residents lounge area. There are facilities for drying clothes and walking boots. EATING:
Evening meals can be obtained from the Kings Arms public house in the village with alternatives in nearby villages of Port Carlisle and Glasson.
DIRECTIONS:
Rail: London to Carlisle approximately 4 hours. No 93 bus or lifts available by arrangement .
Road: 25 minutes from Carlisle to Wallsend House. B5307 westward from Carlisle and turn right 3/4 mile after the hospital towards “Grinsdale, Kirkandrews, Burgh, Bowness.” Keep on this road all the way to Bowness-on-Solway turning left at the village pub towards Kirkbride. Wallsend Guest House is 150 yards at the bottom of the hill with all the tall trees in the garden!
ATTRACTIONS:
Attractions include end of Hadrians Wall; the Solway Firth Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; RSPB and local nature reserves with walks and flat cycle routes along the estuary - Scotland is only 3 miles away.

Historic Carlisle - 15 miles
Victorian seaside resort of Silloth with its famous Links golf course - 15 miles
