The gardens are a particular feature, originally planted by Viscount Chaplin, a leading member of the horticultural society. They feature mature trees and shrubs with magnolias, camellias, azalias and rhododendrons in abundance.
Wadstray House is ideally situated in the centre of the South Hams, close to the old port of Dartmouth, the historic town of Totnes, and for sailing and river trips, Dittisham, Salcombe and Kingsbridge.
The nearest sandy beaches are Blackpool sands and Slapton some four miles away. Dartmoor, vast and rugged, with wild ponies and many interesting walks, is only a short drive. The new Dartmouth Golf Club is only 200 yards along the road and arrangments can be made for daily and weekly membership. The club also provides: - swimming, sauna, jacuzzi and gym facilities.
