Whether you're looking for a relaxing weekend break with maybe a few brisk hill walks around glorious National Trust countryside, an exquisite meal in our fine restaurant, or just a glass of real ale and home cooked food in our traditional pub, the Wellington is where you'll find the comfort you need, served with care and always a smile!
Location
Bocastle is a perfect base for your holiday with easy access to many of Cornwall's attractions, including the Eden Project, the Camel Trail, Padstow and the rest of North Cornwall. Boscastle village has all the amenities that you may need including a number of fascinating gift shops. On our doorstep you will find rugged Cornish coastlines surrounding the beautiful Elizabethan harbour of Boscastle with access to the SouthWest Coast Path and many National Trust walks.
Relax ~ in The Residents' Lounge
Our residents lounge is situated in the commemorative turret at the front of the hotel where, from it's position on the first floor, a fine view across the valley can be enjoyed.
In the winter months (or whenever there's a nip in the air) you willl always be welcomed to the warmth and comfort of a traditional log fire. A perfect place to take afternoon tea with homemade cakes and scones, or why not spend some time reading or watching a movie?
The Waterloo Restaurant ~ Head Chef - Scott Roberts
A little bit of history in the making….. BBC Changing rooms designed the restaurant in 2004 after the Boscastle floods. It was to be one of the final Changing Rooms projects and an experience that we will never forget. Graham Wynne was the designer in charge with help from Anna Ryder Richardson and Gordon Whistance ~ not forgetting the infamous Laurence Llewellyn Bowen ~ a regular diner at The Wellington.
We hope that you will find our restaurant experience something that little bit special ~ so much so that you will want to return time and time again.
Our food just gets better and better….. after moving into the hotel in 2003 we decided that not only did we need to update the surroundings, but the French style food needed to move onto new dimensions. Therefore we mix old and new, French and traditional British to leave you with a mouth watering selection that we are sure you will find a dish to remember.
The produce….. is all locally sourced where possible. All our sauces, jams, chutneys, pickles, breads and chocolates are made here so if you particularly like something, we’re happy to check with the chef if he has any available for sale!
And last but certainly not least…… THE AWARDS…. In 2004 we were awarded the RAC 2 blue ribbons and in 2005 we won the coveted 2AA Rosette Award which we have retained since. Our focus now is to keep improving in all directions. Therefore if you have any comments about how we’re doing, please feel free to ask for Scottie, the head chef or his wife Suzanne the hotel manager.

What a perfect setting for a celebration! ………. No matter what the event we can assure you that every detail will be covered as if it were our own celebration. From organising flowers with the local florist, gifts of home made chocolates, buffets of pasties to sushi, champagne toasts and a private bar or a garden party in the beautiful Cornish sunshine ~ our destination and staff are sure to make yours and your guests day as memorable Boscastle day you could wish for.
