Description:
The Salen Hotel is a traditional Highland hotel. Built around the late Victorian period on a prominent site within the village of Salen at the head of the Ardnamurchan peninsula, it lies in an area renowned for its seclusion and natural beauty. The bar is warm and welcoming and most importantly it is well stocked with a wide selection of wines and spirits as well as a good few Malts! The Salen Hotel prides itself on home cooked cuisine. We use local produce wherever possible, including seafood, which is landed and cooked freshly every day, weather permitting!
Accommodation at the hotel is split into two, those rooms within the main hotel building and a separate block of lodges. All of our rooms are en-suite, with double or twin beds, a TV and tea and coffee facilities. Guests are asked to check in after 1pm and check out time is 10:30am. The chalet rooms are located at the rear of the main hotel building, they each have their own entrance and have en-suite bathrooms, (two also have showers) and a drying cupboard. They are ideal for those who want a little more independence from the main hotel and especially for those who are spending time walking or cycling in our Scottish weather!
The Salen Hotel offers a wide-ranging menu to suit all tastes. Whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian we have something to satisfy your hunger. From local venison, fish and seafood to the best in Scottish beef and lamb, we pride ourselves on the fresh home cooked nature of our food.
We are located from Fort William take the A82 in the direction of Oban. After about 8 miles, shortly before Onich, cross the Corran Ferry to Ardgour. This leaves at a quarter past and a quarter to the hour during the day. On leaving the ferry turn left and follow the signs from Strontian and then on to Salen. Turn left on entering the village and the Hotel is immediately on the right.
