Description:
The Olde Forge Hotel and Restaurant, once the home of an old forge, still maintains its original open fires and timber beams. The hotel, with all its charm and character offers guests a relaxing haven away from the busy stresses of every day life.

Set in the heart of the Wealden countryside near Hailsham, East Sussex, close to many National Trust properties, historic castles and glorious gardens with Beachy Head and The Seven Sisters also in easy reach of the hotel.

The Olde Forge Hotel offers seven comfortable bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The accommodation comprises of 5 double rooms, 1 twin-bedded room, and one 4-poster room.

The hotel has undergone substantial refurbishment since Philip and Nicky bought it in 1999. All of the rooms have been individually and tastefully decorated with new beds, showers, carpets and linen.
All the rooms have direct dial telephone, remote control television, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and heated towel rails.

The hotel also has a small welcoming bar and lounge for you to sit and enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés. On cold winter nights enjoy the open log fires in the bar and restaurant.

The restaurant, with its timber beams and log fires, once the home of an original 16th century forge, is renowned for its high standard of cuisine and service.

Whatever your reasons for visiting us, be it an intimate meal for two, a special family gathering or a short break away, Philip and Nicky offer you a warm and professional welcome.

This hotel is not at all advisable. It was advertised on website as having ensuite bathrooms but ours was across the hallway so wasnt' impressed with this. Had I known this i wouldnt have booked this hotel. Secondly we had tea making facilities in our room which were disgraceful. We we discovered a mould infested tea bag sitting in the bottom of the tea pot. This must have been sat there for some time as it was green and thick mould. We were quite frankly appalled to find it there. Clearly not what you would expect in any hotel and not acceptable. No apology or explanation was given by the owners just a bottle of cheap champagne left in the room for us. We will definatley not be returning here.It was not cheap at £90 for one night and we were upset that after paying so much we had this level of service. Unacceptable.
