We offer en-suite rooms and an excellent home cooked breakfast and evening meal. All our food is home-cooked and our menus change daily. We have double and twin rooms all with en-suite and a single room with a private shower room. The guest house is superbly situated close to Peasholm Park and is within easy walking distance of the North Bay,(which at the moment is undergoing A multi million pound development called 'The Sands' which will be a stunning new 55 acre leisure and residential development overlooking the North Bay and surrounded by natural woodland. With a miniature railway, amphitheatre, lake, water-park, and landscaped parkland, this development will provide a superb environment for holiday makers and visitors alike.
The North Bay has a wonderful sandy beach which is loved by all ages. The picturesque Blue Flag bay sees the ruined Medieval Castle standing 150ft up on the headland towards the south and to the north stands the popular Sea Life Centre with large tanks displaying marine life, underground viewing tunnel and hospital for rescued seals.
Inland from the beach, as well as The Sands spectacular new leisure development, is Peasholm Park. The park is alive with natural beauty and wildlife. Autumn bears an array of crisp browns and oranges and in the Spring a variety of vibrant and deep greens really bring the park to life. We are also near the St.Joseph Theatre & the town centre with its abundance of shops, restaurants and pubs. Internet access available also BSL level 2 also used for any guest that are deaf or hearing impaired and use BSL as their form of communication. The Kensington Guest House opens all year round.
In the wider area around Scarborough there is plenty to see and do. The spectacular North Yorkshire Moors are within easy reach as is the historic walled city of York with its famous Minster, frequent train services leave from Scarborough. The picturesque fishing port of Whitby is a 25 minute drive north along the coast.
