Description:
The Glen"is a family concern with an excellent reputation for friendly service and large freshly cooked breakfasts. It is situated on the outskirts of Kendal, in a quiet location in its own grounds under "The Helm" (local walk and view point of Kendal, the Lake District Mountains and Morecambe Bay), but within a short walk of country Inn and restaurant. All rooms are en suite, with most having bath and shower. For that special occasion we have, our Four Poster suite, with en suite Jacuzzi/spa* and shower and a double room with large en suite bathroom with Double Jacuzzi/spa* and shower, both these bathrooms come with aromatherapy oils and candles, plus there is an add on package of any two of the following, champagne, flowers or hand made chocolates for £30.00. We have a large family/twin room with view of 'The Helm' plus a large ground floor suite with king size bed.
Outside, relax on our patio or in the HOT TUB, bathrobes provided (especially nice in winter). Before taking an evening walk on ‘The Helm’ to watch the sunset over the Lakeland Mountains, then a drink or meal in our local Inn.
We welcome dogs by prior arrangement (except in the Four Poster suite).
We are ideally situated for touring the Lake District and the Yorkshire dales, with no worrys about parking, having our own large car park, or you can come by train, being a short walk from Oxenholme main line station, with frequent trains to Windermere (15 minute journey).

we got there and it was raining so when we wanted to go to the local pub for food warren and tracey let us borrow their umbrella. the room was amazing so spacious, beautiful big bathroom with jacuzzi bath. they even have a great selection of dvds that you can borrow and watch on tv/dvd combi. also when you stay at the glen you have to take a walk up the helm the sights are amazing if you can make it all th way to the top. I didnt want to leave the breakfast was great they have a toaster in the dining room so you can make your own toast, while you wait for your full english breakfast or even just porridge to be made. when we actually did have to leave we paid for the room and went to oxenholme train station which is 5 min walk. then as we were waiting for train warren turned up at the train station to give us some money back as he had over charged us now thats service. me and my boyfriend would definately go again. the only thing i didnt like was the fact that there is only a coupl

Convenient location, happy to take one dog, walking on nearby hills excellent. Music (radio) playing at breakfast, not conducive to a relaxing slow wake-up, it was turned down or off at our request. excellent food and attention to detail. Pleasant manner, would stay there again.
