Welcome to The Crown at Wells, 15th century Grade II listed coaching inn providing affordable and comfortable accommodation in the very heart of the historic City of Wells, Somerset.
The Crown is overlooked by the magnificent Wells Cathedral and the Bishops Palace, with its beautiful grounds and moat. The Crown's central location makes a superb base to tour Wells and the many surrounding attractions in this wonderful part of Somerset.
Superb food served throughout the day, in Anton’s Bistrot and The Penn Bar, with something to suit every taste and budget.
Warm welcome & friendly service in relaxed and comfortable surroundings.
The Crown has been comfortably furnished in-keeping with its 15th century character.
All fifteen bedrooms are en-suite, with colour television, radio/alarm clocks and tea/coffee making facilities. We have four rooms available, with four poster beds at the front of the hotel.
Due to the age and layout of the building, we are unable to offer wheelchair users access to the bedrooms. We are, however, able to provide a ramp for those wishing to use the Bistrot.
The Crown has family rooms, with space for cots and fold away beds. We have high chairs, kids packs, toys and books to keep our younger customers entertained!
Well-behaved, house trained dogs are permitted by prior arrangement. You will be asked to bring separate bedding and not to leave your dog alone in the room at any time. We make a small charge of £5.00 per dog.
