Description:
The Black Lion Hotel gained its name from Queen Phillipa of Hainault’s coat of Arms – the wife of King Edward III.
It is one of the oldest historic buildings in Little Walsingham and dates back to 1310.
The northern end of the building was built to accommodate King Edward III on his numerous pilgrimages to Walsingham.
From the 17 century The Black Lion was a coaching Inn, the oak paneled room to the right of the building hosted the petty sessions until 1861 when they were moved to the Shire Hall.
The Black Lion Hotel is situated in Friday Market Place next to the Roman Catholic church.
We invite you to join us this Christmas season for a relaxing break in one of our comfortable ensuite rooms with festive treats and all meals included. Our programme, detailed below, is available at £298 per person for three nights (£47 single supplement).

Lovely old pub and hotel. Room was comfortable, clean and very atmospheric. Food was great. Try the kippers for breakfast... traditionally smoked at Clay. Would certainly stay at The Black Lion again.
