Peacefully situated in the heart of historic St Andrews, The Albany Hotel is a delightful hotel conversion of a rather quaint, very traditional, elegant Georgian terraced house dating from around 1795. Our quiet location in North Street is close to St Andrews Castle and Cathedral, the University, cinema and the best of town centre shopping. The Old Course - which many of our guests naturally hope to play during their stay with us - is within easy walking distance.
Whether you are visiting a son or daughter studying at St Andrews University, visiting St Andrews or Fife on holiday, a visiting academic, passing through on business, or making a pilgrimage to the home of golf, the Albany will make an ideal base for your stay in St Andrews.
Privately owned by Cecilia and Antonio Ferraro, the Albany is first and foremost a family run hotel. Our aim is to provide an informal and relaxing atmosphere for our guests. After a busy day's golf, business or sightseeing, you will really appreciate the peace and quiet of the Albany and enjoy unwinding in our cosy residents' lounge with a good book, and a brandy or a dram of malt whisky.

DIRECTIONS: By road
(a) From Edinburgh and the south, cross the Forth Road Bridge and proceed north along M90 to junction 2A. Follow the A92 until just before Cupar, then join the A91 to St Andrews. Alternatively, take M90 to junction 8, then A91 to St Andrews.
(b) From Glasgow, Glasgow Airport and the south west, either go east along M8 all the way to Forth Road Bridge and then by route (a), or by M8 onto M80 then A876 to Kincardine Bridge and A977 towards Kinross, joining M90 at junction 6 and exiting at junction 8, then by A91 to St Andrews.
(c) From north and north-west leave Perth on M90 then by A913 to Cupar and St Andrews.
(d) From north via Dundee, cross Tay Road Bridge on A92 and after 1 mile via A919 to Leuchars and A91 to St Andrews.
Once you enter by road A91 into St. Andrews, go straight over 2 roundabouts, through 2 sets of pedestrian traffic lights. The Hotel is approximately 150 yards on right.
