Description:
Welcome to our award winning farmhouse Bed and Breakfast. Our accommodation provides a warm clean environment, and a friendly atmosphere where you can wind down and relax whilst enjoying the stunning Peak District surroundings.
Our Guest accommodation is situated on an unspoilt 100 acre traditional hill farm, which has been looked after by many generations of the family, it is positioned on the edge of the village of Monyash. Our bedrooms give you an uninterrupted view of the distant moors. The farm has many acres of ancient hay meadows which are laced with dry stone walls dateing back several centuries. We have planted a large amount of woodland to encourage bio diversity on the farm.
The trees include willow, ash, oak, beech, hazel and maple. We have seen a huge increase in bird life since the woodlands began to establish. The efforts to encourage wildlife here benefits greatly by physically linking the farm to Lathkill Dale, a five mile national nature reserve which is on our doorstep.
We continually refurbish the house every year - upgrading room facilities and redecorating - our aim is to enhance each visit you make to our Farmhouse. Our bed and breakfast holds the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark, this is awarded to businesses who can show a vital link to the local environment and energy conservation.
We have a choice of Family, Double, Twin and Single en-suite bedrooms. Each one has Sky TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The house is centrally heated. We have a guest lounge where you will be welcomed by a log fire on colder nights, here you can browse through the many books provided for our guests.
Our breakfasts are made from local produce, we use Peak district EQM awarded bacon and free range eggs from our own chickens. Sometimes our ladies go on strike so Andrew & Sandras' chickens at the National Trust Farm in the village provide eggs for our guests.
We also have our own recipe sausages made at New Close Farm, Over Haddon. They hold the EQM for their fantastic butchers shop. We have wild flower honey which is gathered by bees on the farm. Our breakfasts can be tailored to your individual needs. When you book in with us just say if you have specific requirements and we will do our best to meet them.
Cooked breakfasts are grilled in our lovely AGA ensuring they are prepared as healthily as possible. We only use olive oil for our mushrooms. Take breakfast in our newly refurbished garden room and enjoy the scenery looking out across Bagshaw Dale.
