Description:
The Roundham House is a classical Edwardian country house set in an acre of gardens on elevated ground overlooking the glorious Brit River Valley, the majestic ‘World Heritage' coastline and the sea. There are stunning views around the hotel and from many of the bedrooms.
Decorated in luxurious country house style with a modern flourish there is a fine guests drawing room, elegant breakfast room and a cosy, well stocked bar. We have also created a range of services to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
There is a pleasant ten minute walk along a path at the rear of the hotel down to West Bay harbour, the coast path and the new Jurassic Pier. A walk the other way takes about 15-20 minutes into the centre of Bridport. Forget about your car if you wish! Leave it on the car park at the side of the hotel which is easily accessible through a wide gateway.
There are eight individually styled and appointed bedrooms. All of them feature high quality beds with pocket sprung matresses (at least 5ft for doubles), modern widescreen, digital, multi-channel TVs, tea/coffee making facilities with hospitality trays, bottled water, high quality toiletries, fresh flowers and fluffy white towels.
Breakfast is a special occasion at the Roundham House and we cater for most tastes and requirements. A superb breakfast buffet awaits you including cereals, fruits and home made jams, marmalades, muffins (rhubarb and walnut,blueberry and orange) along with croissants, pastries and dairy produce. Toast is always hand cut from our famous local 'Leakers' bread. The main cooked breakfast can include Dorset organic pork sausages, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, and local free range eggs - perhaps from our own hens if requested.
This area has been one of the best kept secrets - until recently. Now its stunningly beautiful countryside and coastline, friendly people, charming towns and villages, magnificent country houses, churches and gardens, museums and nature parks are being appreciated by more visitors than ever before. The coastline has been granted 'World Heritage' status, ranking it alongside natural wonders such as the ' Grand Canyon ' and the Great Barrier reef '.
