Description:
The Oldfield Guest House - Buxton. Avril and Colin Brett welcome you to our spacious and most comfortable Guest House equipped with everything to make your stay an enjoyable one. All the bedrooms are en-suite.
The Oldfield Guest House is a stone built detached house built over 100 years ago that benefits from retaining the heat in the Winter months whilst remaining cool in the height of Summer. Oldfield is conveniently located about a minute’s walk from the Pavilion Gardens and within 10 minutes walk of all the restaurants, pubs, and clubs.
The Spring Gardens shopping centre is also about 10 minutes walk from Oldfield and boasts M&S amongst the many varied shops from small specialist to large stores. The beautiful Opera House is considered to be one of the best of its type in the country is within a 10-minute walk across the Pavilion gardens.
Oldfield is in a quiet location and has its own grounds for the enjoyment of guests including a large and very attractive rear garden with ponds and a stream with a Japanese bridge over. There is a private car park for all guests to the rear of the property hidden from the passing public for extra security.
Oldfield is a non-smoking establishment. All major credit cards accepted.
ACCOMMODATION:
Each spacious bedroom has a complimentary bottle of Buxton water, tea, drinking chocolate and coffee making facilities. A remote control television, hair drier, and radio clock alarm are in each bedroom. All en-suite bathrooms and shower rooms have Bronnley bathroom toiletries by appointment to HM the Queen, wipes, cotton wool, and just in case you forgot to pack, shavers and cream and toothbrushes and paste. They all have full sized bath towels to compliment the modern electric or power showers and in two rooms a bath
The bedrooms all have comfortable beds including two rooms with King sized Hypnos beds by appointment to HM the Queen. All beds are fitted with individual luxury bed linen. Oldfield has a ground floor en-suite double room that is accessed via the two steps in to the Porch and one step in to the Hallway. It is therefore suitable for people with limited mobility who can rely upon their partner to assist them.
Oldfield has a further two double rooms and two twin rooms. We provide a choice of breakfasts from a full English breakfast to a Continental breakfast or smaller breakfasts. We offer specials from time to time and cater for vegetarians.
Oldfield also has a guest lounge equipped with TV and DVD/VHS recorder, radio, books and games. Generally we aim to restrict the number of Guests to eight to ensure personal service and comfort.
TARIFF:
The peak season is from March to October inclusive and we encourage you to stay for more than one night by offering a more attractive rate for a two or more night stay. After all Buxton and the Peak District is a wonderful place to spend time and a one-night stay really does not do it or you justice. Our standard rate for a one-night stay is £38 pppn for two persons sharing a twin or a double en-suite room. We do not have any single rooms. Generally we do not take an advance booking for a one-night weekend stay in the peak season.

All the above prices include a choice of a Full English breakfast with produce from our local butcher or Continental Breakfast or a Vegetarian Breakfast. These are complimented by a very comprehensive range of buffet items such as fresh fruit, organic yoghurts etc.
LOCATION:
Buxton is located on the western side of the Peak District, in an area of great natural beauty. Buxton was once an important spa town and has some beautiful buildings and other amenities such as the Pavilion Gardens, a 23 acre park which is only a few minutes walk from Oldfield.
Oldfield is conveniently located within a short walk of all the shops, restaurants, pubs and clubs of the town. The beautiful Opera House is considered to be one of the best of its type in the country is within a 10-minute walk across the Pavilion gardens.
