Description:
Whether you are in Whitby on business or visiting the area on holiday, you will find a warm Yorkshire welcome at The Old West Cliff Hotel.
Our perfect location offers you the choice of a friendly, bustling resort on your doorstep or the peace and quiet of the magnificent surrounding countryside.
Wonderful panoramic views of Whitby are enjoyed from our windows, from the cliff top lawns you will see the Spa Theatre, the harbour, Piers, the Abbey Headland, St Mary’s Church and even as far as Sandsend, further along the coast.
The Old West Cliff Hotel was built in 1865 by the famous railway entrepreneur George Hudson, and has all the character and style of that period.
The comfortable surroundings of our Lounge and Bar are ideal for relaxing and taking stock, and meals are enjoyed in our graceful Dining Room, where the cuisine is predominantly English, using much fresh local produce. Rest assured that our cellars are well stocked with fine wines to complement your meal!
Our tastefully decorated bedrooms all have bath or shower en-suite and are very well-equipped with colour televisions, tea/coffee making facilities, radio-alarms and hairdryers. All have delightful views.
We are open all year round and are centrally heated throughout.
