Description:
Old Farmhouse dates back to 1670 and is full of charm and character with many original features, including an Inglenook fireplace, beams and flagstone floors. Our charming bedrooms have very comfy beds and far reaching country views over fields and sheep.

As well as our tempting traditional English cooked breakfasts using local produce and free range eggs, you can look forward to homemade bread (make as much toast as you like!), homemade marmalade and jams, fresh orange juice, Bio yoghurt (delicious with Vanessa’s red plum jam!), fresh fruits, porridge, stewed prunes, large pots of freshly brewed coffee and real leaf tea. No portion control here!

Our delightful cottage garden, well stocked with flowers and shrubs, is perfect for enjoying your breakfast outside on warm and sunny mornings. Alternatively you can sit in our conservatory, brimming with colourful geraniums, where you can also write your postcards or just simply read and relax and enjoy the country views.

We have two good village pubs / restaurants within 200 yards plus our own favourites off the beaten track. Woodstock, 3 miles away, also has a large selection of places to eat.

There are excellent walks from here and just across the fields there’s a heavenly bluebell wood, which should not be missed in May! Blenheim Park, 1 mile away, has a beautiful lake and a large variety of trees and woodland where you can do a circular 3½ mile walk with wonderful views.

We have a village railway station within five minutes walk which means you can leave your car with us and travel to Oxford in only 10 minutes. We are perfectly situated for visiting Oxford, Woodstock and Blenheim Palace. A local bus goes through our village from Witney to Woodstock every hour.

Oxford's Bus Museum is next to our station and houses over 40 vehicles. It's open every Sunday and Bank Holiday throughout the year and Saturdays from April till October and every day in August. There is a café and shop in the museum and on the first Sunday in the month from April till October you can take a free jaunty ride around the countryside on one of the museums antique buses!

Our station's claim to fame was when Sir Winston Churchill's coffin was transported from London after his state funeral and then taken to nearby Bladon church, one mile away, where there is a family grave.

London is one hour by train and in the other direction you can travel to Moreton in Marsh and take a bus into the Cotswolds, namely Chipping Camden, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Lower Slaughter Moreton in Marsh also has a large market every Tuesday, which is well worth visiting. Stratford upon Avon is ¾ hours drive away and Bath, Avebury and Stonehenge about 1½ hour's drive. The journey to Bath is very interesting, passing through lovely Cotswold villages in particular Bibury, Barnsley and Tetbury and then past Highgrove, home of Prince Charles.
