There are many walks, parks, and historic buildings to visit, and Marples' many canal locks are worth a visit. There are also many pubs and restaurants within walking distance of Oakfield Lodge. Marple has it's own cinema and swimming pool, a good range of shops and banks with cash points. Oakfield Lodge Guest House is a large Victorian House with spacious gardens and panoramic views.

Great property, full of character, just like the host! Very friendly, very accommodating, and what a find - kids, grandma and dog were very happy, as were we. Without asking for it [we just said we wouldn't have cooked breakfast because we were veggies but everyone else will] we got a breakfast with veggie sausages! Brilliant place, can't fault it.
