Just over a mile from the centre of town, this 17th-century property has a village setting. Each bedroom has its own unique blend of period furniture and modern comforts. Interesting dishes, carefully prepared by Mrs Clark, are available from a nicely balanced carte. The public areas include an attractive bar-lounge and a spacious and comfortable sitting room.
Situated in Bishops Hull, Taunton, this charming period residence is over 300 years old and is set in its own grounds, offering somewhere to relax and enjoy. Meryan House Hotel is set in delightful grounds, only 1.6 km (one mile) from the centre of Taunton.
The owners have opened up 3 of the original inglenook fireplaces and a complete working well, over 12 metres (40 feet) deep, which was uncovered in the kitchen.
Please note that there are 2 very rare and friendly Dandie Dinmont Terrier dogs at the hotel.
Comfortable dining area, with large Inglenook. Small and Intimate. Please note the restaurant is used by business people Monday to Thursday, who prefer to eat in, and we have found that our weekend guests tend to go into Taunton rather than eat at the hotel. Therefore, please check with the hotel if the restaurant is open, as we may have other functions booked in advance at weekends. We can advise on where to eat if the dining room is booked. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 1 year stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
