Description:
A warm welcome awaits.....Melrose Guesthouse is an elegant, Victorian Guesthouse in the centre of Ambleside, in the heart of the Lake District National Park. It is conveniently located for the many fine restaurants and provides and ideal base from which to walk or cycle from.
There is ample secure storage for cycles and walking gear and there are drying facilities for outdoor garments and boots, should the need arise.
The owners have four passes for the Low Wood Hotel leisure facilities, which are available for all guests to use during their stay with us. Amenties include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room , sauna, outdoor hot-tub and gym.
ABOUT US:
A warm welcome is assured from the recent owners Lynn and Alan, who will ensure your stay is a relaxing and enjoyable one. They have made many improvements to the property since their arrival in April 2006.
ROOMS:
<i>Standard double rooms</i>
There are four standard double rooms, all of which have shower ensuites, TVs, refreshment trays, fresh towels. One of the double rooms is on the ground floor , which may be ideal for those with a young child, since there is ample room to add in a further portable bed or travel cot to accomodate an additional small one. The room is also suited to those who are not particularly mobile.
<i>Single room</i>
There is one single room, which is on the first floor, having a view to the front of the property towards Wansfell and has private facilities for the sole use of the occupant. There is a vanity unit in the room. Additionally there is a flat screen TV and DVD player, refreshment tray and fresh towels and luxurious dressing gown.
<i>Family room</i>
The family suite comprises a double bed and two single beds (one of which is in an adjacent room)and hence is suitable for a small family group or three singles.
There is a large flat screen Tv and integral DVD palyer to occupy the younger members of the family and the owners have a large selection of DVDs to hire.
<i>Triple rooms</i>
There are two triple rooms which are very flexible to accomodate a variety of group sizes and mixes. Both are very spacious and comprise a double bd and single bed and hence suitable for three or two persons. One of the triple rooms has a shower ensuite, the other has private facilities and a grand fire place and drinks cooler.
GUEST SERVICES:
Tea and coffee is provided in each room on a freshment tray with milk sachets,sugar and complimentary biscuits.
A traditional English cooked breakfast or vegetarian or lighter alternaives are served in the elegant dining room tot he front of the house. Guests are able to relax on the garden bench to the ron of the house which is also an ideal spot for taking the sun and watching the world go by.
Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 9.15, however for keen walkers this can be brought forward slightly to ensure an eraly start on the nearby fells. Check in time is after 2pm and check out time is 10.30am unless pre-arranged.
