Lydford House is centrally situated in Somerset and is ideal as either a stop-over on the way to Devon and Cornwall, or for exploring Somerset itself. Bath and Bristol are under an hours drive away and locally there are many tourist attractions and historic sites.

The house itself is large and imposing and VERY comfortable. The décor and fittings are all of the highest quality which is just one of the reasons Lydford House has been awarded the top rating by the AA.

The owners are primarily antique dealers and not only is the house full of interesting pieces but you may well find that the breakfast table is laid with white cloths and silver cutlery, much as it would have been in 1860, when the house was built. The beds are all made up with pure cotton (usually hand embroidered) sheets and pillow cases and the general feeling here is 'one of care' which really is the quality that the owners pride themselves on.

Although the Antiques showroom is primarily for 'Trade' only, Bed and Breakfast guests are welcome to browse.

There are several good pubs and restaurants nearby, one is over the road!
