Description:
Lustleigh is a picturesque village in the Dartmoor National Park with thatched cottages clustered around the Church, Village Green and 15th Century Pub. There are many lovely walks on the Moor and around the village itself; other well known beauty spots are only a short car journey away – Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Becka Falls, Castle Drogo. It is only 15 miles to Torbay beaches, 20 miles to Exeter and 35 miles to Plymouth.
From the centre of the village you can follow the old mill leat (or stream) and very soon you will arrive at the Lustleigh Mills. A former corn-mill, it is an ancient building – there was a mill over 500 years ago! Lustleigh Mill is an ancient building, over 400 years old, with exposed beams and granite fireplace. It is close to the village centre, yet quiet and secluded. The old mill stream, which still flows past the house and into the Wrey Brook at the bottom of the garden, produces our own electricity.
Old Bakery. The Old Bakery was built in Victorian times in the garden of the Millhouse. It provided bread for the parish of Lustleigh until after the First World War. Careful and tasteful renovation has produced light and spacious one-bedroom accommodation, ideal for two persons. The old original oven has been retained as a feature of the sitting room. There is central heating throughout and a wood-burning stove in the sitting-room.
