Description:
Located in the quiet hamlet of Blackthorn on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire borders, Lime Trees Farm was built in 1760 at the start of the reign of George III. It is now a warm and comfortable family home, providing a high standard of hospitality for our guests. Situated in an acre of landscaped gardens, Lime Trees Farm is surrounded by eleven acres of pasture land. As you listen to the birdsong in the trees, it is hard to imagine that you are just twelve miles from the centre of Oxford, less than eight from the M 40 motorway and just over three from the thriving market town of Bicester with its renowned retail shopping village.
On spring and summer afternoons many of our guests returning from a sightseeing trip, or a day of business commitments, enjoy a cup of tea next to the ornamental pond, relaxed by the sound of trickling water, or enjoy a stroll around our landscaped gardens. A back drop of pasture with horses quietly grazing make this the perfect pastoral idyll.
Our rooms are furnished with beds from The Handbuilt Bed Company. We don't think you can get more comfortable; and our guests agree! Cotton bed linen of course, and goose and duck down pillows and duvets for a peaceful and luxurious night. (Hypo-allergenic pillows and duvets are available on request - but please ask when you book). Each room is a tasteful mixture of antique and modern furnishings providing a warm and informal ambience. A colour television with digital 'freeview' channels, dvd player, digital clock radio, electric trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each room, and wireless broadband is available at no extra charge. We have an eclectic collection of dvds which guests are welcome to borrow during their stay.
Lime Trees Farm is our home, and we want it to be yours too whilst you are staying with us. For your convenience we offer shoe cleaning and ironing facilities for your use, needle and thread and a choice of buttons, and non-prescription medical and first aid items.
