Laurel Cottage Bed & Breakfast, is situated in Bowness on Windermere which is the main resort of the English Lake District. We are a traditional Guest House, located in the heart of Bowness on Windermere, a minutes' stroll from Bowness Bay - one of the best places to view Lake Windermere. There is a good selection of Pubs, Bars, Restaurants and Bistros, to suit everyone's taste.
Built in 1613 as the original village Grammar school, Laurel Cottage Guest House retains many original features. Today the property continues to offer the charm and character of centuries past - whilst giving guests all the comforts of the present, we are superbly located only one minute from the promenade at Bowness Bay. A warm welcome from John and Syma awaits you at our family run Guest House.
Our Bedrooms - each with its own character, are available as single, double, twins and family rooms - most with en-suite facilities. We pride ourselves on high standards of cleanliness and a warm and friendly welcome. The rooms have Cottage or Victorian decoration, tea/coffee making facilities, central heating & colour TV. We also have Four Poster + Super Kingsize bedrooms available with the option of having your breakfast served in your room.
Take Junction 36 from the M6 and follow signs for windermere on A590 then A591, at windermere turn left by windermere hotel following signs for "Bowness and lake (1 1/4m)" go through village and keep on road until bowness village is reached, at mini-roundabout carry straight on then turn next left onto kendal road, we are approx 50mts up on left just before the Royal Oak pub.
