KING BETHUNE HOUSE is a spacious Century home on a quiet street in downtown Peterborough. Built in the early 1890’s by a lumber baron, the house is warmed by the generous use of heritage timbers, molded trim and spectacular windows. It has been lovingly restored with ensuite baths in two keyed guest rooms and one spa suite. Central air conditioning and silent tropical fans have been added for the comfort of guests. Spa services are available for all guests.

KING BETHUNE HOUSE opened as a European style guesthouse in 1992. It has similar or better amenities than many expensive hotels and accommodations. A feature of the rooms is the AVEDA toiletries provided for our guests - bath gels, bars, shampoo and conditioner. We also use AVEDA Aromatherapeutic products for our Spa treatments and therapies.

A tranquil garden. Mature trees and shrubs and a brick wall remaining from the original carriage house create a private, serene garden. Afternoons in the hammock.... Summer fireside evenings.... Breakfast on the garden patio three seasons of the year.

Court your special someone in the privacy of your room in a big cushy bed under a soft European duvet. Turn the lights down low. Turn the music on. Make a tea, coffee or have a drink. Watch a movie. Rooms have ensuite baths, central air, extra heat in baths, TVs, VCRs, Disc/tape/radio players, alarm clocks, wireless internet access, coffee/tea bars, terry robes, AVEDA toiletries, and excellent beds (duvets, pillows and more pillows, cotton ironed linens).
