The 3 star hotel has something for everyone; a beautifully appointed restaurant with award winning food (2 rosettes from the AA) and wonderful views towards Haytor, an indoor heated swimming pool with spa bath, sauna, steam room and large gym. It is also set in 10 acres of its own land within the Dartmoor National Park.
It is well situated for exploring all of South Devon, with its beaches and coast, and is within striking distance for a day trip to the Eden Project. There are many National Trust properties to view in the area and fishing, sailing and walking are some of the many activities available locally.
The hotel underwent a considerable building project in 2005 to 2006 to create a new restaurant and function suite and improvements to all of the public areas this helped to increase its percentage with the AA to 85% making it one of the top 3 star hotels in Devon and the South West.
Our rooms are everything you would expect from a 3 star country house hotel. Every bedroom is individual, each one with an en-suite bathroom and 3-star facilities. All our rooms offer a spectacular panoramic view of the outstanding moorland scenery, which changes with every passing season. All of our rooms are non-smoking.
The Ilsington Hotel prides itself on its restaurant, which serves local, classic and contemporary dishes featuring fresh market produce. There is something to suit every occasion - a Devonshire Cream tea in the conservatory or garden, hot, buttered tea cakes by a roaring log fire, or the intimacy of the Library, which is ideal for a private dinner party or business meeting.
Ilsington is four miles from the A38, which is a continuation of the M5. Shortly after Exeter the road divides, take the right hand fork in the direction of Plymouth and after about twelve miles take the exit indicating Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead.
