Description:
Hillenvale Guest House has been lovingly decorated to accommodate guest in comfort and style. A full English Breakfast is freshly cooked, served in the dining room bathed with morning sunlight. Conservatory, terrace and gardens have panoramic views of sunsets over the Stroud valleys. Situated in the Cotswolds, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty in the south west of England. Each room has an en-suite (including a bath or shower), television, radio alarm, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Towels are provided and rooms are serviced daily. All bedrooms and guest areas are non smoking. There are miles of footpaths through beautiful countryside, punctuated with old English pubs. The Cotswold Way is nearby. Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust is close by as is Westonbirt Arboretum, the worlds finest tree and shrub collection, set in 600 acres of landscape grounds, which is spectacular in spring and autumn. We are mid way between Bath and Cheltenham. Bath famous for its Roman heritage; and Cheltenham Spa for its Georgian and Regency buildings. Both offer excellent shopping, theatre and an abundance of cafes and restaurants. The Cotswolds is steeped in history with ancient hill forts, burial sites and many links to its Roman past: the foss way, Cirencester (Roman market town, Corinium Museum) and Chedworth Roman Villa. Stately homes, manors and castles abound, Berkeley Castle is to this day the family home of the Berkelys. Picture Post card villages are scattered everywhere - an artists or photographers paradise: Bisley, Tetbury and Minchinhampton to name just three. All are well blessed with antique and craft shops to browse or buy. A visit to Painswick is a must - the Rococo Gardens, the churchyard packed with fascinating Yew trees and a choice of tea shops.
