Description:
A beautiful farmhouse on the ancient Haddon Hall estate, this is a great place for hilltop or riverside walks straight from the garden gate. Like visiting with your hospitable country cousin who loves to bake and does interior design as a sideline, this farmhouse was featured in the magazine "BBC Homes & Antiques". The themed rooms invite you to escape where reality can be suspended for your precious time away from a hectic life. We know what you'd like to find: supremely comfortable beds & linen, gorgeously warm bathrooms, a great choice of fresh fruit and delicious breakfasts offered at a time to suit you, warm knowledgeable hosts with maps and guide books. Some weekends are like a very successful dinner party, with carafes of coffee and fresh baked muffins lasting into mid morning as guests enjoy one another's conversation and the beautiful Peak District views.

The Wil Shakespeare Room has historical romance in mind - 4 poster king size bed draped and dressed like a film set, murals and room decor encourages a tranquil mood which you personalise with the music selection and soft lighting - or watch your favourite movie - there's a stack of DVDs and CDs. An oak cupboard hides the fridge, tea/coffee, china, wine glasses, cork screw, etc.; bring your favourite bottle and munchies, lock the door and make the world go away!

The Monet Room is themed with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. Wall murals transport you to Giverny, the painter's garden. Comfort, peace and quiet is the emphasis in our farmhouse - everything you need close at hand - wine glasses, tea/coffee - we've thought of everything you're ever likely to want.

The Master Room is spectacular; a 4 poster super-king size bed in a king size room with a second bedroom and ensuite shower - ideal for family groups or two friends travelling together, or for a couple who would appreciate a little more space to spread their belongings. Supremely comfortable and indulgent with great views and Sky TV make this a favourite room of many of our guests.

The Spring Meadow Room has undergone a makeover and is the perfect place for a wind-down and a romantic break - bathroom, a double bed and a single bed (with roll out truckle bed underneath the single), Sky TV, tea/coffee/wine glasses, etc. This room feels very private, with roof windows that open wide to let the summer breezes refresh.

There's a bubbling hot tub in a secluded corner of the garden (available at small extra cost). After a day of fun, this is the perfect end to a wonderful day.

Give us a call (or an e mail) to discuss your plans, your requirements. Precise room rates vary dependant on how many people are staying, the time of year, the number of nights, etc. Generally, on a weekend we ask folks to stay for a minimum of two nights (cost from £95 per night for two people, so from £190 for a two night stay on a bed and breakfast basis). Sometimes because of a previous long booking, we are able to offer Saturday nights only – please inquire. Single occupancy of our double rooms ranges from £49 - £65, and at very high demand periods (like the summer) a single rate is identical to the double rate. Apologies to those needing single occupancy.

We’re at the heart of the beautiful Peak District National Park – and handy for Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, all the attractions, and within walking distance of great restaurants and pubs, cafes, shopping. We have secure off road parking and can look after your cherished car while you enjoy the hilltop or riverside walks from our door.

This is a great place to bring your celebration – honeymoons, anniversaries, rewards to mums and dads who deserve a special break. We can do Gift Vouchers with ease and at short notice – we can accommodate most people’s individual requirements. Send us an e mail or give us a call – 01629-814024 – we enjoy being part of your special times.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed into Marilyn and Bill's beautiful home and made to feel like family. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who provided local knowlege, maps and even a free taxi service. We stayed in the Wil Shakespeare room, cleverly furnished with a very comfortable bed and interesting pictures, books and ornaments on the Shakespeare theme There were several thoughtful touches too including fresh milk in the fridge and mini torches by the bed. Sharing a delicious breakfast round the kitchen table with other guests was a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable way to start the day. We look forward to our next stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Haddon House Farm and wished it had been for longer. Bill and Marylyn were so welcoming that we have recommended their home to all our friends. Hope to visit them again in the future.

We travel a lot and stay in a lot of different places: this is by far the best place we have ever stayed. Bill & Marilyn were amazing hosts - couldn't do enough for us. We'll stay again.
