Relax in the peace and quiet of the countryside when visiting Auckland. Only 5 minutes by car to a West Coast beach. Sole use of self-contained holiday home - sleeps 4. Guests have sole use of a large farm cottage only 30 minutes drive to central Auckland and five minutes by car to Bethells/Te Henga - a west coast surf beach at the end of the Valley.

Accommodation consists of a lounge (with TV, DVD player and radio), two bedrooms each with two single beds (electric blankets, sheets and towels provided), a bathroom and a spacious kitchen-dining room.The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering and has an electric stove, microwave and fridge.

The main house and guest cottage are set in a large country garden featuring herbs, old-fashioned flowers and organically grown fruit and vegetables. We keep chickens and graze a few cattle. We have an elderly Border Collie working dog, now retired. There are swings in the garden for children.

The property is a 30 minute drive west of Auckland City and located in a rural valley enclosed by tree-clad hills. In the surrounding Waitakere Ranges there are over 200 km of walking tracks through spectacular rainforest scenery. Wine can be sampled at vineyards in Henderson or Kumeu.
