Description:
Glenferness is a late Victorian house with a lovely original conservatory. Situated in the medieval village of Robertsbridge, in the heart of the countryside and only 12 miles from the sea, it is the ideal location for visiting historic castles, houses, gardens and places of interest in Sussex and Kent.
Robertsbridge is a very convenient base from which to explore many parts of Sussex and Kent. Glenferness is a few minutes drive from the A21 and is only 30 miles south of the M25/J5 and 40 miles from the Channel Tunnel. Trains are available hourly to Battle, Tunbridge Wells, etc on the main line from Hastings to London. Robertsbridge station is only a hundred yards from the house.
Battle Town, the site of the historical 1066 Battle of Hastings, is just four miles south of Robertsbridge. Other nearby places of interest include: Bodiam Castle (4 miles), Battle Abbey/Site of the Battle of Hastings (4 miles), Batemans, Rudyard Kipling's home (4 miles), Herstmonceux Castle (11 miles), Pevensey Castle (16 miles), Leeds Castle (22 miles) and Chartwell, Winston Churchill's home (30 miles).
Nearby interesting and historical towns include Rye, Hastings, St Leonards-on-Sea, Bexhill, Eastbourne and Royal Tunbridge Wells.
