Description:
The Hotal was built at the turn of the century. The public bar has a renowned wall painting of hunting scenes made by a German prisoner of war. There is also a lounge bar. Families and pets are welcome.
The Hotel has been run by Frank and Sue Ward since 1971.
There are two bars, a restaurant, games room with pool and darts, beer garden and children’s play area outside. Notably we have a skittle alley which doubles as a function room. It has its own bar and is available for booking for parties.
The Fox and Hounds Hotel is situated within Dartmoor National Park and is a very popular destination for walkers and day-trippers to the moor. The moor is accesed directly via a trackway behind the Hotel. We have modern camping and caravanning facilities in addition to bunk bed accommodation.
There are six rooms in the hotel, all en-suite, and two further rooms in the adjacent cottage that share a Jacuzzi bathroom. The hotel accommodation has been renovated recently. All our roms are non smoking. Each room has a TV and Tea and Coffee making facilities.
