Description:
Here is the ideal venue for short breaks, business visitors, and those who want to explore the busy market towns and irresistibly picturesque villages of the Cotswolds. This 17th century coaching inn has been privately owned and managed since 2001. Grade II listed, it has since been extensively refurbished and has 28 bedrooms, including family rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Amongst the original features in a fine Jacobean oak staircase that rises from first floor level. We offer three star comfort and service, special rates for weekend bookings, an historic setting and exceptional cuisine.
Even if you are just visiting for the day, you are welcome to take the morning and afternoon breaks at the Fleece, lunch here or enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in our courtyard. Or maybe have an early evening meal at The Fleece, before you take in a show at Cirencester's nearby Brewery Arts Theatre.
If you are in this area on business, you will find perfect accommodation at the Fleece. Here there is peace and quiet, yet we are at the heart of a bustling county town. Each of our bedrooms is equipped with the business user in mind, and includes a secure room safe that will hold a laptop computer. The direct dial telephones have data ports, and the remote control colour television sets are equipped with teletext and a scart connection for computer games. Other bedroom facilities include a radio, hairdryer, trouser press, iron and ironing board, and tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel's fax machine is available to guests. The businesses that built The Fleece were wool processing and cloth weaving. The painted likeness of frames and braces, which distinguishes the front elevation of the hotel, is itself an antique curiosity. The carriageway of the Georgian section is now the hotel's reception area, and opens out onto a sheltered courtyard. When the weather allows, this is much enjoyed by business visitors for alfresco eating and informal meetings.
